What I am gonna write about first is the Middlesex Uni football team. We play our matches on Wednesdays before Halftime (which basically is a weekly event\ big party for all Middlesex students). This week we were playing Roehampton (I think) and we needed a win, a big win. The reason for us needing a big win is that we compete with a team called Bedford for the league title. As we drew against this team on the opening day of the league, both teams have won every match they’ve played. So basically it comes down to goal difference at the end of the season. On the coach on our way to Roehampton’s home pitch we off course got lost on the way which meant no warm up. And for those people who know me, also knows that I was just as happy, never been a big fan of that anyway. The game kicked off and we took a quite early lead, that goal also provided everyone with the biggest sensation of the day- I scored with a header!! And I know what you readers must think; “that doesn’t happen every day.” And yeah, you are right, it doesn’t. We got one more goal before I bend a corner straight in to the net, and yet another screamer from Ottesen was a fact. Your question might be; “Was it deliberate?” Well, who knows?  We ended up winning the game 1-5.

After the game however, came the day’s second biggest sensation. The changing room(s) for this ground (which has 5 pitches and is used by girls and boys and all the games finish more or less at the same time) was uni-sex. This means that the shower room- whom by the way looked a bit like showers used in the Second World War, was meant to be used by both girls and boys. An idea I necessarily didn’t dislike. However, off course it ended up with that no one wanted to shower with our team. For reasons unknown. It might have been that an all-soaped-up Ads Amos was playing chopper, that only three showers were working so for those who saw in there they saw 13 naked boys fighting for three showers, it could also have been the charmingly load singing or the strange clapping-without-your-hands- sounds that filled the room. As I said, who knows? But I don’t think these are the reasons, however, you as a reader are entitled to make up your own mind. Finished showering we went in the bus- stopped by Tesco to buy beers, and then vote for Man of the Match and Dick of the Day on our way home. Ads Amos claimed the Man of the Match after a very good match (I was not at all grumpy that 2 goals and one assist didn’t give me the award) and after a numerous of votes, arguments and beers the Dick of the Day finally went to the lad deserving it the most, Leigh Jones! After three weeks of definite Dick of the Day actions (blasting the ball over the goal in the 6 yard box four games in a row, standing on the ball before falling on his face ++) he finally got what he deserved. 

Thursday:Woke up a bit hangover, had 7 hours in uni before the main event of the day; Mighty Spurs vs. Aalborg at The Lane. I was going to the match with Rob, Dermot (two guys from uni football)Stella (who got us the tickets, she is also the deputy of the sports department in uni and a Spurs fan. Great woman! ) also joining us was another girl and boy whom I sadly don’t remember the names of, for this I am sorry. We were all ready to watch a Spurs team- who finally appears to be finding their form, after a horrible start of the season, a manager sacking and lots and lots of internal chaos. This theory was soon to be disrupted. After 1 min and 32 sec Aalborg scored against a Spurs team who looked so pale and poor that even Arse**l could have beaten them. But the horror wasn’t over. After about 30 min Aalborg scored again! 0-2 was a fact. Horrible! The teams went to halftime followed by boo’s and filthy language.

15 min later they came back on. Ramos, who must have given the players a thunder speak in halftime, made two subs. Bringing on Darren Bent and Tom Huddlestone. This was the beginning of a great a second half. After about 15 min it was 2-2. Berbatov and Steed Malbranque scored both goals after some lovely piece of football from the hosts. Then, after a great spell of dominance from Spurs we scored again, this time by Darren Bent. The Lane exploded! We are now through in the UEFA cup. 

 It was a lot of football talk in this post, for those who might dislike it, read someone else’s blog!:)
